Rudy Gay is signing a two-year, $12.1M deal with the Jazz, with a player option, his agents Raymond Brothers and Sam Permut said. He was then shipped to Cleveland in exchange for Brandon Knight, John Henson, and a 2023 second-round pick. He spent almost eight seasons with the Detroit Pistons, where he was named an All-Star twice (2016 & 2018). Originally from Middletown, CT, Drummond was drafted ninth overall in the 2012 NBA draft after playing one season at UConn. However, with All-Star point-forward Ben Simmons still on the trading block, they will likely have a much different overall look next year, so right now it’s unclear if Drummond will mesh with the team that the Sixers trot out on opening day.
